Reflecting on his exhibition Parallel Worlds, Chanvipava writes: “BEK Forum is an experimental space where new work is developed through research, dialogue, and making. Within this context, I am presenting my first video and a painting-led installation that I have been considering for a long time…This project allows me to develop these ideas within a structured environment while also preparing for a larger presentation later this year at the Bangkok Biennale.”
At BEK, these long-considered ideas take form through installation and moving image, extending a practice rooted in memory, grounded in the logic of painting, and shaped by questions of identity and selfhood.
Chanvipava has presented solo exhibitions at Ronchini Gallery, London; Roman Road, Venice and London; Nova Contemporary, Bangkok; and Ames Yavuz, Shanghai and Singapore, and will be included in the upcoming Bangkok Art Biennale.
